CATIA Automotive Chassis Training


Automotive designers must understand the fundamentals of chassis design to effectively design for the vehicle’s engine. The Automotive Chassis Assessment tests a design engineer’s ability to design engine components with kinematics and structures in mind.

Chassis Design Fundamentals
Candidates will have working knowledge of chassis design after completing training. The candidate will need be able to:

Determine when to use a casting or a steel forging
Recognize what is important in the underbody area (tie rods, ball joints, struts, shock absorbers, rear springs, rear axles, drive shafts)
Identify the machining operations necessary to create the different types of parts
Determine the types of parts/designs required in the following:
Fuel System
Exhaust System
Brakes
Front and Rear Suspensions
Steering
Frames
